Bajaj CNG Bike Launch Delayed, To Debut On July 17

GaadiWaadi –

The launch of the Bajaj CNG bike has been delayed by a month to 17th July and it will become the first of its kind in the industry

As we all know Bajaj Auto has been working on the development of India’s first CNG bike and earlier, during the launch of Pulsar NS400Z, it was announced that the CNG-powered motorcycle will premiere on 18th June, 2024. In the latest development, it has come to light that the launch of the Bajaj CNG bike has been delayed by a month.

Now, the two-wheeler will debut in the Indian market on 17th July. While the exact reason behind this delay is unknown, we will have to wait for some more time before the Bajaj CNG bike is revealed in full flesh. Talking about its details, the test mule of the CNG-fed motorcycle has been spotted multiple times on Indian roads and will be targeted at the commuter segment.

A meager running cost will be its USP and the leaked design blueprint highlights the smart placement of the CNG cylinder. It is important to note that the CNG bike will also feature a conventional petrol fuel tank which means that it can also run on petrol, making way for the dual fuel setup, much like the CNG cars in the market.

The CNG cylinder will be positioned along the length of the motorcycle, thereby optimising the space and the ‘sloper’ engine layout will further help the cause. As per some media reports, the Bajaj CNG bike will be offered in two variants i.e. a more abuse-friendly version for the rural areas with protection elements like a sump guard, knuckle guard and a handlebar brace while in its other urban area centric guise, the bike will bear a conventional attire with no extra add-ons.

Talking about Bajaj’s market strategy, a total of 5-6 CNG bikes are on the cards for the Indian market, starting with the first model which will launch next month. For the initial months, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer aims to sell 20,000 CNG bikes per month. The production capacity will be increased according to the market demand and customer response.

As far as the pricing is concerned, the CNG bike will command a premium over its conventional counterparts and the sticker cost will play a huge role in determining its overall market positioning.
