A jaw-dropping denial from San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama on Domantas Sabonis has taken the internet by storm from when the San Antonio Spurs squared off against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.
During a high-drama moment in the game, Sacramento Kings power forward Sabonis attempted a sneaky manoeuvre to reach the basketball hoop. However, Wembanyama was fully aware of the quick move from his opponent as he instantly blocked the shot to deny the Sacramento Kings star.
The NBA has now shared videos of the move from different angles on Instagram. “Victor Wembanyama twists and turns for the denial,” the wrote in the post.
In the video, Domantas Sabonis could be seen getting past a San Antonio Spurs player on the court before coming face-to-face with Victor Wembanyama. Sabonis gives the San Antonio Spurs star a light shove in the chest, tricking him into spinning around defensively. Meanwhile, Sabonis rotated for a chance at the net. Despite being caught in a defensive turn, Wembanyama quickly recovered in time to push the ball away from the net sparking a raucous reaction from the fans.

Wembanyama stole the show as he scored 34 points for Spurs. He also had 14 rebounds and six assists in the match. Domantas Sabonis was the second-highest point-scorer on his team (23). He had 12 rebounds and four assists in the game.
The San Antonio Spurs are next set to take on the Washinton Wizards. Their match will take place at the AT&T Center on November 14. As for the Sacramento Kings, they will face the Phoenix Suns on the same day at the Golden 1 Center.
