The first match of the Premier League 2025-26 season will be played between Liverpool and Bournemouth at Anfield on August 15 at 12:30 AM IST.

Ahead of the start of the 2025-26 edition of the Premier League, former England and Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand, former Newcastle United forward Alan Shearer, former Arsenal footballer Theo Walcott and former Spurs striker Jermain Defoe have made their predictions for the top four teams of the Premier League 2025-26.
While all five feel that defending champions Liverpool will successfully defend their title this year, Gerrard, Ferdinand and Shearer have backed Arsenal to finish second once again and Manchester City third, followed by Chelsea at fourth.
But according to Walcott and Defoe, Manchester City will finish as runners-up after a disappointing campaign last season. Walcott has predicted that his former team will finish third this season, followed by Chelsea, but Defoe has put the Gunners in the fourth position and Chelsea third.

The 2025-26 edition of the Premier League will get underway on August 15 with a match between defending champions Liverpool and Bournemouth at Anfield. On August 16, Manchester City will face Wolverhampton Wanderers also known as Wolves at Molineux Stadium and Chelsea’s season opener is scheduled to take place at Stamford Bridge in London on Sunday (August 17) against 2024-25 FA Cup winners Crystal Palace.
Arsenal’s first match of the 2025-26 Premier League season is against Manchester United on August 17. The match between the two popular Premier League clubs is scheduled to take place at Old Trafford from 9 PM IST.
In the 2024-25 edition of the Premier League, Manchester United finished 15th in the table with just 42 points from 38 balls. The Red Devils have won 20 First Division/Premier League title so far.
